If you are looking for free high quality ragtime piano and ragtime orchestra music and scores you have come to the right place.
The Piano rolls page contains 111 authentic ragtime piano rolls converted to mp3-format without loss of sound quality. Although most of these recordings were sequenced by skilled arrangers - especially the ones recorded during the first 10 - 15 years of the ragtime era ca 1898 - 1918, some of the ones presented here were actually hand played by their respective composer - among them four with Scott Joplin playing his own compositions.
Unfortunately I haven't yet been able to find all the classical ragtime piano rolls that I wanted for the piano rolls page. The Virtual piano page attempts to fill this gap with 95 rags transcribed and sequenced by me.
The Virtual Orchestra page contains arrangements for orchestra of ragtime pieces. The collection includes 100 original ragtime era stock arrangements and 18 contemporary arrangements. The former includes all 15 rags contained in the famous Red Back Book, published by Stark Music Co. Most of the latter are arranged by me - you can think of them as arrangements for a ragtime orchestra I wish I had - but there are also some exciting arrangements by David Kerr, that he made for his New Century Ragtime Orchestra, and by Klaus Pehl, that he did for his Ragtime Society Frankfurt. All arrangements are presented as a recording of a virtual orchestra (see the About page for more information) and the complete score for all instrument parts.
YouTube contains many ragtime related videos. A selection of them are presented on the Live performances page.
There are many interesting ragtime sites on the Internet and the most important ones are listed on the Links page. These sites provide in turn a plethora of links to other ragtime related sites so together they will give you an almost complete coverage of this field of interest.
